Squirts: 3-5 year olds program

Rochedale Rovers FC has run a training program for 3-5 year olds for many years - most of you would know it as "Squirts"

Created to introduce 3 - 5 year olds to the world game, our program kicks off after the Easter school holidays. Our experienced coaches provide fun, football-based activities to develop basic skills and a love of the game. Through practice activities and age-appropriate drills, children learn control and movement with the ball, while strengthening their gross motor skills and general co-ordination.

Squirts – Football Fun for 3–5 Year Olds

Where Little Feet Take Big Steps in the World Game!

Our "Squirts" program is the perfect first introduction to football for children aged 3 to 5 years. It's a fun, friendly, non-competitive space where littlies learn to move, kick, laugh, and make new friends.

Designed around engaging games and age-appropriate activities, Squirts builds coordination, confidence, ball familiarity, and a love of the beautiful game, all at your child’s pace.

Program Format:

Ages: 3 to 5 years
Sessions: Weekly sessions on a Saturday morning, with games, fun drills & play
Tiime: Arrive 8.50am for 9.00am start
Location: Underwood Park
Season Duration: 16 weeks
Focus: Ball skills, movement, fun & confidence building

Key Dates – 2026 Season

Kit Collection & Meet the Coach: Saturday, 21 March, 2026, 8am
Session 1: Saturday, 2 May 2026 (arrive 8.50am for 9am start)
Holidays: No sessions during school holidays
Session 16: Saturday, 5 September 2026
Catch-up Sessions: Two catch-up sessions are built into the season in the event of weather or other unforeseen cancellations.
End of Season Presentation: TBC
End of Season Celebration: TBC

Fees

$280* (Full 2026 Season – 16 weeks)

Rochedale Rovers FC playing jersey & shorts
Saturday morning 1-hour sessions – 2 May to 5 September (excluding holidays & weather permitting – 2 catch-up rounds scheduled)
Game day experience as mini-mascots at select senior game/s

* Governing body fees are additional: Football Qld ($37.50 per season through the Squadi App) and Football Australia ($0 per season through PlayFootball).

** Socks (recommend long white socks), football boots or joggers, and shin guards must be purchased separately (not sold by club) and worn by all players.

Important: All players must be financial (minimum required deposit paid) to receive merchandise. Please ensure payments are up to date prior to Kit Collection Day. Payment plans are available and we accept the Qld Government PlayOn Sports Voucher.

QLD Government PlayOn Sports Vouchers for 5 - 17 year olds

All Queensland children aged 5 to 17 are eligible for one PlayOn Sports Voucher financial year and Rochedale Rovers FC accepts these vouchers for our programs.
