Erik McArthur was, and always will be, a cherished part of the Rochedale Rovers FC family. A true club person through and through, he gave his time generously, whether lending a hand behind the scenes or showing up to support every Rovers event, especially our much-loved golf days (where he may or may not have taken home a trophy or two). On match days, Erik was a familiar face on the old clubhouse deck, backing the boys with quiet pride. Above all, Erik was a devoted father. Nothing meant more to him than watching his son Liam’s journey - from Rovers junior to first-team player - unfold in our colours.
While Erik is no longer with us, his presence is still felt across the club. In tribute, the Committee proudly named our annual golf day in his honour, a fitting way to celebrate his contribution and keep his spirit part of the Rochedale Rovers FC story.
2026 marks the 5th Erik McArthur Memorial Golf Day, and we’d love you to be part of it.
Come along for a relaxed and memorable day. Great golf, good company, and a few cold ones - just the way Erik would have enjoyed it. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just keen to get involved, this day is for all Rovers members and supporters. We welcome familiar faces and new ones alike.

6.30am - 7.00am Registrations + Breakfast
7.30am Briefing + Corona Toast to Erik
8.00am Shotgun start
1.00pm Post-golf lunch + presentations

Terms and conditions
- 1. Registration and Payment
Registration is only confirmed upon full payment of the entry fee.
Payments are non-refundable except as outlined in the cancellation and wet weather policy.
Participants must provide accurate contact information during registration.
2. Event Participation
Participants must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled tee-off time.
Participants are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate golfing attire and equipment, as per Virginia Golf Club’s dress code.
3. Golf Club Rules and Etiquette
All participants must adhere to the general rules and regulations of Virginia Golf Club
Key rules include but are not limited to:
Appropriate golfing attire must be worn at all times.
Respect for the course, staff, and fellow players is mandatory.
Golf carts must be driven responsibly and only on designated paths where required.
Alcohol consumption must be responsible, and no outside beverages are permitted.
Players are responsible for any damages they may cause to the course or club property.
Failure to comply with the club's rules may result in removal from the event without refund.
4. Food and Beverages
The event includes breakfast and lunch for all registered players.
Drinks are not included (unless drinks sponsorship is secured prior to the event).
Virginia Golf Club is a licensed venue and strictly NO alcohol is to be BYO.
Alcohol will only be served to participants aged 18 and over. Valid identification may be required.
Participants are expected to consume alcohol responsibly.
5. Prizes and Competitions
Various prizes will be awarded during the event.
Prizes are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
6. Wet Weather Clause
In the event of adverse weather conditions, every effort will be made to proceed with the event.
If the course is deemed unplayable by Virginia Golf Club management, the event may be rescheduled.
Participants will be notified as soon as possible of any changes.
If rescheduling is not possible, participants may be eligible for a refund minus reasonable administrative costs.
7. Liability
Rochedale Rovers Football Club and Virginia Golf Club are not responsible for any personal injury, loss, or damage to property arising from participation in the event.
Participants acknowledge that they are engaging in the event at their own risk.
8. Code of Conduct
All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner.
Offensive, disruptive, or dangerous behaviour may result in removal from the event without refund.
9. Media Consent
By participating in the event, you consent to being photographed or filmed for promotional purposes by Rochedale Rovers FC.
